Dr. Pradeep Kumar : Professor and HODDr. Pradeep Kumar completed his graduation from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences followed by completion of his MDS from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences. He is currently associated with Rajasthan Dental College, Jaipur as Head of Department . He is running his own private setup in Jaipur since last 15 years. He is also a consultant to a large number of hospitals & clinics including CK BIRLA HOSPITAL, JAIPUR & APPOLO HOSPITAL, REWARI. Over the past years, he has used almost all the Implant Systems & have performed more than 3000 Implant Surgeries. His fields of expertise includes advanced implant surgical procedures including Sinus Lift, GTR Procedures, Ridge Split & Nerve lateralization. For about 10 years years he is associated in Implant research work & training to newly passed graduates & post graduation. |
COURSE INSIGHT:
The Department of Periodontology & Oral Implantology at RDCH, Jaipur was established in 2003. It has separate undergraduate and postgraduate sections equipped with modern dental chairs& units fitted with ultrasonic scalers & other instruments as per Dental Council of India guidelines. Advanced surgical& microsurgical armamentarium is available in the department. The Department of Periodontology provides education and clinical experience in etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of the periodontium. Students are trained to recognize and treat periodontal diseases at all stages of severity and in combination with other phases of dental care. This includes conventional as well as advanced surgical therapies. Surgeries such as flap surgery, micro-gingival surgery and laser assisted surgery are conducted on a regular basis. PG students also undergo training in the latest aesthetic and regenerative procedures using advanced membranes and bone graft materials. This Department also comprises of a dedicated Implant section with Physiodispensar & Implant kits of various systems. The PG students are regularly placing Implants & even involved in research work (thesis) related to Dental implantology.Department Goal:
To provide basic and advanced education &treatment in Periodontology& Oral implantology through integrated scientific learning and to be a forerunner in advanced research and clinical practices.
KEY RESULT/ ACTIVITY AREAS
1. Undergraduate students are trained with skills to render non-surgical and preventive periodontal procedures and are introduced to surgical periodontal procedures by observing and assisting as procedures are being performed2. Postgraduate students are given opportunity to learn and master a variety of Periodontal surgical clinical procedures
3. Hands on training in various implant systems and clinical exposure to use of Implants, lasers and electro surgery unit, is being imparted as part of the curriculum
4. The Department has a library comprising more than 96 titles and 175 books, and a seminar hall with all modern audiovisual aids and computer and internet facility
