Dr. Deepak Kumar Sharma : Principal, Professor & HOD Dr. Deepak K Sharma completed his graduation from Bapuji Dental College, Davengere, Karnataka in 1998 and Post-Graduation in the speciality of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from College of Dental Sciences, Davengere, Karnataka in 2001 under Rajiv Gandhi University. He has completed his PhD from Maharaja Vinayak Global University, Jaipur in 2015. He has also done Diploma in Implantology in the year 2021. He has published various researches & patents in ample number of speciality journals. He has also conducted various workshops & CDE programs in various cities of India, which imparts his academic excellence in the field. He has been Vice- President of Indian Dental Association of Jaipur, (Rajasthan)in the year 2014, 2016, 2020 &2022 and Vice President of Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) in the year 2014, 2016 and he is President Elect of the Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) for the year 2023-24. He has also been member of Dental Council of India (DCI) from 2017 to 2021.He is founder member of Rajasthan Association of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics (RACE). He is member of Board of Studies in Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh & NIMS University, Jaipur.

COURSE INSIGHT:

Conservative Dentistry is primarily concerned with the conservation of the teeth and restoration of the lost tooth so is the function of teeth in dental arch. The department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at RDCH caters to graduate students at the school and offers a post graduate program leading to masters in the speciality. Upon graduation students are expected to diagnose and manage various common dental problems encountered in general dental practice keeping in mind expectations and the right of the society. The department consists of highly skilled, experienced and dedicated team of teaching and trained staff, amalgamated with traditional and latest materials, techniques and gadgets like RVG, Surgical microscope, loupes, themoplasticized obturating systems, help our trainees to have effective diagnosis and understanding of the problem for the best treatment. Department maintains strict regime of Sterilization and Asepsis and creates great awareness amongst the trainees.

KEY RESULT/ ACTIVITY AREAS

1. Undergraduate students are initially trained on phantom heads with jaws to get familiar and trained with the teeth anatomy, chair positions and patient positions.
2. The undergraduate students are trained in their clinical postings to make cavity preparations and restorations in patients.
3. Interns are introduced to various endodontic procedures and are assisted as procedures are being performed.
4. Postgraduate students are trained with skill for a variety of restorative and endodontic procedures with advanced techniques and equipments.
5. A separate seminar hall for presentations and discussions of postgraduate students with all audio- visual aids.
