Dr. Meetu Mathur : Professor & Head Dr. Meetu Mathur completed her graduation from Govt Dental College, Jaipur, Rajasthan in 1999 & post graduation in the speciality of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics from Jaipur dental college in 2011. She is currently pursuing her PhD in the field of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics from Nirwan University. She has academic & clinical experience of 14 years. She holds life membership in IACDE,IES ,IDA, RACE, National medical organization & Academy of Oral Implantology. She has attended more than 50 workshop & conferences including state, national & international conferences. There are 20 publications in her name in various national & international journals. There are 2 patents that have been designed under the name(Ledge removal instrument design no.405384-001: the patent office journal no.40, government of India & Dental veneer preparation ultrasonic tip design, no.638959, international design classification, intellectual property office) in the year 2024.She has chaired many scientific sessions in state and national conferences. She has also conducted various workshops & CDE programme in the college, which impart her academic excellence in the field. She is a member of Board of studies in NIMS University, Jaipur.

COURSE INSIGHT:

Conservative Dentistry is primarily concerned with the conservation of the teeth and restoration of the lost tooth so is the function of teeth in dental arch. The department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at RDCH caters to graduate students at the school and offers a post graduate program leading to masters in the specialty. Upon graduation students are expected to diagnose and manage various common dental problems encountered in general dental practice keeping in mind expectations and the right of the society. The department consists of highly skilled, experienced and dedicated team of teaching and trained staff, amalgamated with traditional and latest materials, techniques and gadgets like RVG, Surgical microscope, loupes, themoplasticized obturating systems, help our trainees to have effective diagnosis and understanding of the problem for the best treatment. Department maintains strict regime of Sterilization and Asepsis and creates great awareness amongst the trainees.

KEY RESULT/ ACTIVITY AREAS

1. Undergraduate students are initially trained on phantom heads with jaws to get familiar and trained with the teeth anatomy, chair positions and patient positions.
2. The undergraduate students are trained in their clinical postings to make cavity preparations and restorations in patients.
3. Interns are introduced to various endodontic procedures and are assisted as procedures are being performed.
4. Postgraduate students are trained with skill for a variety of restorative and endodontic procedures with advanced techniques and equipments.
5. A separate seminar hall for presentations and discussions of postgraduate students with all audio- visual aids.
